Fe/Mn Sampling

Fe/Mn Sampling is a technique used in the oil industry to measure the concentration of iron and manganese in the formation of water. Fe/Mn Sampling is important because it can indicate the corrosivity of the formation water, which can affect the integrity of the pipelines and equipment used to extract and transport the oil and gas. Fe/Mn Sampling is usually done by collecting samples of formation water from the reservoir and then analyzing them in a laboratory using atomic absorption spectroscopy. This sampling can help optimize the production and maintenance of oil and gas wells, as well as prevent environmental damage caused by corrosion.

Jar Cuts

A jar cut is a procedure that involves taking a sample of the fluid mixture from an oil well and separating it into water and oil phases. The jar cut is usually performed at the surface using a device called a separator, which applies pressure and temperature to the fluid sample. The jar cut is useful for oilfield testing because it allows the measurement of the water cut, which is the percentage of water in the fluid mixture, and the oil gravity, which is the density of the oil phase. The water cut and the oil gravity are important parameters for evaluating the productivity and profitability of an oil well.

Batch Treatment Applications

Treater Truck Batch Treatments are a method of oil well stimulation that involves injecting chemicals into the wellbore to improve the flow of oil and gas. Treater Truck Batch Treatments have several advantages over other stimulation techniques, such as:

  • They are cost-effective and easy to deploy, as they do not require specialized equipment or infrastructure.
  • They can target specific zones or intervals in the reservoir, allowing for customized treatments that suit the well conditions and objectives.
  • They can enhance the recovery of oil and gas by reducing the viscosity, improving the wettability, dissolving the paraffin, or breaking the emulsion of the hydrocarbons.
  • They can also prevent or mitigate common production problems, such as scaling, corrosion, or bacterial growth, by introducing inhibitors or biocides into the wellbore.

Treater truck batch treatments are a versatile and efficient way of optimizing the performance and longevity of oil and gas wells.

We are also able to treat low- and high-pressure wells.

Water Injection Flow Meter Maintenance

Water Injection Flow Meter Maintenance is a crucial process for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of water injection systems in oil and gas production. Water injection is used to maintain reservoir pressure, improve oil recovery, and prevent formation damage. However, water injection also poses several challenges, such as scaling, corrosion, erosion, and plugging of the flow meters. Therefore, regular maintenance of the water injection flow meters is necessary to avoid these problems and ensure accurate measurement of the water flow rate and quality.

Water Injection Flow Meter Maintenance involves several steps, such as:

  • Cleaning the flow meter components, such as the sensor, the transmitter, and the piping, to remove any deposits or contaminants that may affect the flow measurement or damage the equipment.
  • Calibrating the flow meter to ensure that it is within the specified accuracy and repeatability ranges. This may involve comparing the flow meter readings with a reference standard or another flow meter,   and adjusting the calibration parameters if needed.
  • Inspecting the flow meter for any signs of wear, corrosion, erosion, or damage, and replacing or repairing any faulty parts. This may also include checking the electrical connections, seals, gaskets, and fittings for any leaks or loose connections.
  • Testing the flow meter to verify that it is functioning properly and meets the operational requirements. This may involve measuring the water flow rate, pressure, temperature, density, viscosity, salinity, and other parameters under various conditions and comparing them with the expected values.

Steam Quality Sampling

Steam quality sampling is a method of measuring the quality of steam produced by a boiler or other steam generator. Steam quality is defined as the ratio of the mass of dry saturated steam to the total mass of wet steam in a sample. Steam quality sampling can provide valuable information about the performance and efficiency of a steam system, as well as detect any problems or issues that may affect the quality of the steam.

Some of the benefits of steam quality sampling are:

  • It can help optimize the operation and maintenance of a steam system, by identifying any factors that may reduce the steam quality, such as water carryover, contamination, corrosion, or fouling.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and specifications, by verifying that the steam quality meets the requirements for the intended application or process.
  • Improve safety and reliability, by preventing damage or failure of equipment or components that depend on the steam quality, such as turbines, heat exchangers, sterilizers, or autoclaves.
  • Help reduce costs and environmental impact, by minimizing the energy and water losses associated with poor steam quality, as well as the emissions and waste generated by the steam system.

Trendz specializes in providing steam quality sampling services and solutions for various industries and applications. Trendz has a team of experienced technicians who can perform steam quality sampling using state-of-the-art equipment and methods. We can also provide analysis, reporting, and recommendations based on the results of the steam quality sampling. Analytical Services

PMAC

PMAC scale testing loop

The PMAC scale testing loop is a facility that simulates the conditions of a well and facilities. It can operate at high pressure and temperature, which are essential for evaluating the performance and compatibility of different chemicals. The loop can also vary the flow rate, pH, and concentration of the chemicals to optimize the design and testing process. The PMAC scale testing loop is a valuable tool for developing and validating new solutions for system protection and efficiency.

Rotating Electrode Cylinder

Rotating cylinder electrode corrosion testing

Rotating cylinder electrode corrosion testing is a method to evaluate the performance of corrosion inhibitors under different flow conditions. The rotating cylinder electrode (RCE) simulates the flow regime (shear, low flow) and the mass transfer effects on the corrosion process. The RCE can be used to measure the minimum effective concentration (MEC) of the inhibitor, the partitioning coefficient between the aqueous and oil phases, the solubility of the inhibitor in water, and the protection efficiency of the inhibitor against general and localized corrosion (pitting). Competitive testing of different inhibitors can also be performed using the RCE method.

Microbiological testing

Microbiologic Testing

ATP testing is a method of microbiologic testing that measures the amount of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) in a sample. ATP is a molecule that is present in all living cells, including bacteria. By measuring the ATP level, one can estimate the bacterial load and the effectiveness of bacterial control measures. ATP testing is fast, simple and sensitive, and can be used to monitor the hygiene and sanitation of surfaces, water, food and other products.

Rotating Cage Corrision Test

Rotating Cage Corrosion Testing

The rotating cage corrosion testing is a method to study the influence of flow conditions on the corrosion behavior of materials. It can also be used to screen the performance of corrosion inhibitors under low temperature and low pressure conditions. The test uses corrosion coupons, which are metal samples that can be visually inspected after exposure to the corrosive environment. The test duration can be long enough to capture both general and localized corrosion phenomena, such as pitting.

Atomic Absorption Spectrometry

Atomic Absorption Spectrometry

Atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS) is a technique that measures the concentration of elements in a sample by analyzing the amount of light that is absorbed by the atoms of those elements in a vaporized state. AAS can be used for qualitative and quantitative analysis of various elements, such as metals, non-metals, and metalloids.

Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS)

Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS) is a powerful analytical technique that combines two methods: gas chromatography (GC) and mass spectrometry (MS). GC separates the components of a chemical mixture based on their volatility and affinity to a stationary phase. MS identifies the molecular structure and mass of each component by ionizing and fragmenting them. GC/MS is widely used for environmental analysis because it can detect and quantify trace amounts of organic pollutants and contaminants.

We also offer: high pressure liquid chromatography, gas chromatography, auto-titration, 12’ flow loop corrosion testing, softener testing (elution studies on both SAC and WAC softeners), and resin bead analysis.
